One of the hottest reality shows Down Under is “The Block” where four couples compete against each other to renovate houses and sell them at auction for the highest price. The 2012 season, which wrapped up earlier this month in Melbourne, was set in four adjacent multi-story town houses. It has been entertaining to see the differences, and similarities, in decor choices, and it looks like barn pendants have made their way to the southern hemisphere!
In this kitchen, created by one of the contestant pairs, the very modern touches of black, white, and stainless are broken up by pops of color in dishes, appliances, and even the colored cotton cord on the deep bowl pendant over the counter. This fixture closely resembles our Ivanhoe™ Wilcox Deep Bowl Porcelain Pendant which is a classic light hand crafted right here in America. With its universal shade design, this light will adapt into countless styles of homes – country cottages, coastal bungalows, and modern townhomes such as this.
Choose from five shade sizes ranging from a petite 8″ shade to a whopping 16″ version. Eight gorgeous and shiny porcelain finish colors are available for the Wilcox which means your
light can take on any number of looks from traditional or modern to bold and funky. This flexible fixture can be cord mounted with a basic black or white cord or go with one of our colored cotton cords. We also offer a cotton twist cord. If you want to add some vintage flair to your pendant, consider adding a wire guard which can be customized to match your shade color.
Porcelain is a great choice for kitchens which tend to create their own sort of hazardous environment with steam and splashes that can all affect the finish on your lighting. Our glass enamel coating is hand applied and baked to become one of the toughest finishes you will ever find. It will never fade or corrode no matter how much marinara sauce flys through the kitchen!
